44th Foreign Kendo Leaders' Summer Seminar 2017



44th Foreign Kendo leadersf summer seminar was held in Kitamoto City in Saitama prefecture during one week from 21st (Fri) July to 28th (Fri) July 2017.
62 Kendo leaders who came from 45 countries all over the world, mainly from FIK affiliates organization.
The participants are Kendo 3-Dan to 6 Dan holders who are the current Kendo leaders or the leaders in the future of that country.
All participants had a chance to learn from the many high level instructors. The contents of the seminar are the basic/advanced skills of Kendo, Coaching, how to referee, Kendo Kata, and so on.  Particularly, "Training Method for Fundamental Kendo Techniques with a Bokuto" is included as one of the contents. Besides the instructors, there were more than 10 Motodachi Sensei in total for the Keiko time, so that the participants had good opportunities to do the Keiko with various high level Senseis

38th Foreign Kendo Leaders' Summer Seminar 2012


An important referee seminar for the 15WKC official referees was specially held in Feb 2012 in Japan.  Fostering high level international referees is an urgent and very important mission for the WKC.  All Japan Kendo Federation and International Kendo Federation are in cooperation to hold this referee seminar instate of 37th Kitamot Seminar.
However, year 2012 is the 60th anniverasry year after establish All Japan Kendo Federation, so that AJKF decided to hold 38th Kitamoto seminar in same year.
Thus, 38th Foreign Kendo leadersf summer seminar was held in Kitamoto City in Saitama prefecture during one week from 27th (Fri) July to 3th (Fri) August 2012.
58 Kendo leaders who came from 38 countries all over the world, mainly from FIK affiliates organization.
The participants are mainly Kendo 3-Dan to 6 Dan holders who are the current Kendo leaders or the leaders in the future of that country. 
All participants had a chance to learn from the many high level instructors. The contents of the seminar are the basic/advanced skills of Kendo, Coaching, how to referee, Kendo Kata, and so on.  Particularly, "Training Method for Fundamental Kendo Techniques with a Bokuto" is included as one of the contents. 35th Foreign Kendo Leaders' Summer Seminar 2010

The Foreign Kendo Leadersf Summer Seminar is usually held for 1 week in late July in Kitamoto city.  However, as the Combat Games will be held in Beijing in Aug 2010 and also the some other reason will be occurred, the Summer Kendo Seminar 2010 shall not be held.

Alternatively, a referee seminar is specially held in Jun 2010 in Japan.  Training high level international referees is an urgent matter and very important activity for the FIK events.  All Japan Kendo Federation and International Kendo Federation are in cooperation to hold this referee seminar.

(The participants of referees seminar in Jun are the officially selected referees by FIK only.)

34th Foreign Kendo Leadersf Summer Seminar 2009

The Foreign Kendo Leadersf Summer Seminar is usually held for 1 week in late July in Kitamoto city.  However, as the 14th World Kendo Championships will be held in Aug 2009, the Summer Seminar 2009 shall not be held.

An intensive referee seminar for the 14WKC official referees is specially held in May 2009 in Japan.  Fostering high level international referees is an urgent and very important mission for the WKC.  All Japan Kendo Federation and International Kendo Federation are in cooperation to hold this referee seminar.

The Foreign Kendo Leadersf Summer Seminar is usually held for 1 week in late July in Kitamoto city.  However, as the 12th World Kendo Championships will be held in July 2003, the Summer Seminar 2003 shall not be held.

An intensive referee seminar for the 12WKC official referees is specially held in April 2003 in Japan.  Fostering high level international referees is an urgent and very important mission for the present Kendo community.  All Japan Kendo Federation and International Kendo Federation are in cooperation to hold this referee seminar to reinforce the IKF referee seminars of each zone.

27th Foreign Kendo Leadersf Summer Seminar 2002




    2002- Foreign Kendo Leaders' Summer Seminar in Kitamoto

All Japan Kendo Federation holds a foreign Kendo leadersf seminar every summer in Kitamoto City in Saitama-ken.  The aim of the seminar is to foster Kendo leaders in foreign countries and every year approximately 50 people recommended by the country organizations and selected by AJKF participate in the seminar.  In principle, the expected participants are Kendo 3-Dan or higher Dan holders of the FIK affiliates, and the current Kendo leaders or the leaders in the future of that country.  The contents of the seminar are the basic/advanced skills of Kendo, Coaching, How to referee and so on. 

After the Kendo seminar, they have opportunities to learn how to repair the Kendo equipment and the Japanese culture, tea ceremony.  As there are so many applicants every year, AJKF conducts a screening to select the participants based on certain conditions.

The summer seminar this year was held from July 26 to August 2 at Gedatsu-kai Training Center in Kitamoto.  53 people from 33 countries and regions participated in the seminar and had a wonderful time to foster the friendly relations among the participants.  They leaned the fundamental movements and applied Waza, Nihon-Kendo-Kata, how to coach, how to referee and so on during the seminar. 

The participants had a chance to learn a lot from the 5 instructors.  Besides the instructors, there were more than 20 Motodachi Sensei in total for the Keiko time.  Some of them stayed for a few days during the seminar and had a chance to do Keiko with the participants as Motodachi and then the next group came to join as Motodachi.  So the participants had good opportunities to do Keiko with various Japanese high-ranking Dan holders.

26th Foreign Kendo Leadersf Summer Seminar 2001


          2001- Foreign Kendo Leader's Summer Seminar in Kitamoto

All Japan Kendo Federation holds a foreign Kendo leadersf seminar every summer in Kitamoto City in Saitama-ken.  That is to foster Kendo leaders in foreign countries and approximately 50 people from all over the world participate in the seminar.  In principle, the expected participants are Kendo 3-Dan or higher Dan holders of the FIK affiliates, and the current Kendo leaders or the leaders in the future of that country.  The contents of the seminar are the basic/advanced skills of Kendo, Coaching, How to referee, Kendo equipment maintenance and so on.

        2000- Foreign Kendo Leader's Summer Seminar in Kitamoto

All Japan Kendo Federation invites applications from foreign Kendo federations and holds a Kendo Leadersf seminar.

The summer seminar has been held every summer since 1975 and the purpose of this seminar is to foster Kendo leaders in each country.  In principle, the expected participants are Kendo 3-Dan or higher Dan holders, and the current Kendo leaders or leaders in the future of that country.  The contents of the seminar are the basic/advanced skills of Kendo, Coaching, How to referee, Kendo equipment maintenance and so on.

The 25th Summer Seminar in 2000 was held at Gedatsu-kai Dojo in Kitamoto from July 28 to August 4, 2000. 55 participants from 24 countries and regions were participated in this
seminar
